About Me:
I am a singer living in southern California and loving what I do, where I live and who I am. I used to be an urban girl, having gone to high school in Washington DC (Academy of the Washington Ballet) and later to Juilliard in New York where I studied acting. When I was a student at Juilliard, I met Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche who became my Buddhist teacher. I have continued to practice Buddhism to this day. Chogyam Trungpa and his Regent, Osel Tendzin, became profound influences in my life. Becuase I began practicing Buddhism while I was studying acting in an intense and very deep way at Juilliard, my work as an artist and my spritual path have always been completely inter-related. I worked for a long time as an actress on B'way in New York and in regional theater, also in T.V. and film (among my favorites were playing Dudley Moore's wife in “Lovesick” and working with Peter Weir on “Fearless”), until I found my way to the west coast where I met my husband, guitarist Robben Ford. We were bi-coastal for a while, hopping between L.A. and N.Y.C., and eventually found our way to Ojai, a very small town which is a spiritual haven. (It's one of the only east-west valleys in the world, which may account for the unusual energy here.) No kids, but two active careers in the arts.
I am now focusing on singing and have released three CDs. The first is a collection of art songs & standards, one is a tribute to Oscar Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim, and the most recent is a collection of Kurt Weill songs called “Weill” which was recorded (for the most part) with the WDR Big Band in Cologne Germany's Philharmonic Hall. I am passionate about good music and performing, and pride myself in pouring my heart into my work and being a unique artist who works hard, takes risks, gives it all.

“From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that we are here for the sake of each other - above all for those upon whose smile and well-being our own happiness depends, and also for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day I realize how much my own outer and inner life is built upon the labors of my fellow men, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received”
